“We can help you Homeschool your child.”

As Homeschoolers, we need to be ready to help each other. During our first year at the Academy, which is a private, non-profit school, we helped fifty-three students, ranging in age from five to sixteen, with more expressing interest for next year. It was a successful year with several students participating in the graduation ceremonies. The second year at the Academy promises to offer even more interesting courses.

Effective for the 2003-2004 school year, The Academy will offer classes from 9 am to 4 pm each Tuesday, for 36 weeks. This time will be broken into four, nine-week semesters, with a two-week break in late December. While most classes are expected to run for the full 36 weeks, we're also offering several shorter-term classes of one-, two-, or three semester lengths. All classes will start on the hour, and last 55-minutes, followed by a five minute break. There will be a one-hour lunch break at noon. Lunch is purchased out each week at Wendy’s, Chinese Best Food in Town, Domino’s Pizza or Taco Bell. It is a nominal fee of $3-5. Students also have the option of a bag lunch or parents are free to take them out. The playground is open for lunch hour.

Many of the classes offered at the Academy are geared for high school credit, for Homeschoolers desiring to earn a Diploma. Students may do so through the Homeschool Academy of South Jersey High School Diploma Program (for more information about the Diploma Program, visit the website www.thetutornj.com) however, lower grade level classes, and "enrichment" type classes (not carrying academic credit, per se) are also included.

HASJ is a "tuition" based Academy. Each 55-minute class is $7. Tuition payments are on a five-week pre-payment system and there is a notification when payments are due. The registration fee is $1 per week/per student, which covers the cost of insurance and administrative expenses. The cost of textbooks and materials varies with each class. The Cancellation Policy states that classes may be cancelled up to 14 days after the first day of school, and receive a prorated discount. Also please note, there will be no refund given on books and materials purchased. Deadline for registration is August 31st, after that date a $5 late fee will be charged. For credit card payments, call Rose (856-327-1224).

Feel free to contact our academy staff: Rose, Deanne or Judi.
